ELECTRO-TECHNICAL OFFICER (ETO) M/V Captain Arctic — Polar Expedition Vessel — French Flag (RIF)
The vessel 70m diesel-electric expedition cruise ship, 36 passengers, 24 crew. Arctic operations. Ultra-low-emission. Operated by SELAR, crewed by AdMare Ship Management (Sweden).
The role You will be the sole ETO onboard, responsible for all electrical, automation and IT systems. Diesel-electric propulsion, LV/MV networks, PLC/SCADA, VFD drives, switchboards, industrial Ethernet. You need to be comfortable working independently and solving problems under pressure.
Key systems Diesel generator sets, electric propulsion (motors, drives, converters), main and auxiliary switchboards, AC/DC power chains, PLC automation, HMI/SCADA, fieldbus and industrial Ethernet networks.
What we are looking for:
- STCW III/6 ETO certificate (or equivalent)
- Valid STCW basic safety training
- Solid experience on diesel-electric vessels or complex industrial electrical systems
- Maritime, offshore or energy background preferred
- Good English — working language onboard
- EU/EEA nationality
Contract:
- IBF contract
- €7,000/month
- 8 weeks on / 8 weeks off
- First embarkation: Summer 2026
